Eric is a short story by Shaun Tan, as supervisor I directed our team to the look and development of this small piece taking my specific role within Motion Capture. All motions other than the ones indicated were completed in my kitchen over a period of an hour. I have been using iPiSoft for about a year now and think it is a fantastic benchmark for markerless motion capture and look forward to including it with my future projects.
Opening Titles - 1 kinect
Scenes 1/2 - Stills
Scenes 3/4/5 - 1 kinect
Scene 6 - Vicon system
Scene 7 - 1 Kinect
Scene 8 - Vicon system
No additional animation was done to the hands due to the distance the character was set at. Although a Vicon system was used for scenes 6 and 7 it was an excellent comparison between the power of one kinect with iPiSoft and industry standard passive motion capture.
All of the motions were captured using IPI Soft Express with one XBOX sensor, All characters were created in Poser Pro 2012 with final rendering done in Vue De'Sprit. The only motions that were not captured were the running motions; those were done using Posers Walk Designer. Facial capture was with Brekel Pro Face.
