December contest is over. We had a lot of discussions in our team regarding which is the best of submitted videos. Finally, we decided that the winner is Jesse Griffith with "10 Ways to Defeat Aliens" piece!
Our congratulations!
And... we decided to continue the competition for the whole year of 2013! Take your chance!
The movie "Beautiful Vase" was created by director Amir Toosi and a team of people at Iranian Academy of the Arts. Ali Jamali captured some animations for the movie using Kinect and iPi Mocap Studio 2.0 (the movie also uses keyframed animations).
Made with 3 PSeyes and iPisoft 2 Basic. This was a test I performed to see if I could apply mocap to non-humanoid models, and it worked fairly well for what it is. Just shows the power of this program.
This was my first iPi test animation made with Logitech webcams. I set up the cameras, danced around a bit and put the raw data straight onto my model - and wow, it was astonishing.
People couldn’t believe this was home markerless motion capture, my YouTube mailbox filled up with questions about the software and the views shot up to 30,000.
The first home mocap solution that really worked!
Two years later, I’d really love the iPi upgrade so I thought I’d try this animation in the competition as it still shows how amazing iPi is and was - ‘straight out of the box’.
Have a Happy New Year!
All animation produced using iPi motion capture software.
